Direct from the Brittany region of France, this exquisite antique French oak cabinet is a true showcase of masterful hand-carving, circa 1890.
The cabinet features a richly detailed triple-moulded crown and an impressive carved upper frieze, adorned with raised floral blocks on each end. The ornate front door is flanked by intricately carved bands of floral and geometric circular designs. At the center, dimensional carvings include a striking upper arch with a winged cherub and a large laurel wreath encircling a centurion bust—complete with a finely carved helmet, beard, mustache, and flowing hair.
The lower drawer and serpentine apron are adorned with elegant floral and foliate motifs, while each side of the cabinet mirrors the craftsmanship with matching carved panels.
A remarkable statement piece—solid oak and rich in detail, embodying the artistry of late 19th-century Brittany craftsmanship.
